Yes! We’re offering a free 30-day trial of Pro to all users of Highlight, along with 2,000 credits of usage. You can experience the best version of Highlight for 1 month with no credit card required. Visit our pricing page to get started.
The Free plan includes local meeting transcriptions, chats with auto-selected models, all integrations and daily summaries. If you want to choose your own premium models or use cloud meeting transcriptions, you can upgrade to our Pro plan at any time.
We use credits to calculate usage of your service. In general, 2,000 credits equals approximately 200 premium chat messages or 25 hours of meeting transcriptions, or any combination. You can view your credit usage at any time in your account settings page. We’ll notify you when you start to approach your monthly limits.
You can view your credit usage at any time in your account settings page under the usage/billing section. We’ll also send you notifications when you reach 80% of your monthly limit and when you’re close to running out.
When you reach your credit limit, you can either top up with additional credits ($20 for 2,000 credits), or wait for your monthly credits to refresh. You’ll receive notifications before you run out.
Pro users can add more credits to their account at any time at a rate of $20 for 2,000 credits. You can purchase them instantly when needed from the Pricing page. 
Monthly credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle and do not roll over. However, any top-up credits you purchase will carry over until used.
Pro users can bring your own API keys! You won’t be charged Highlight credits for usage of these models - you’ll only pay for the Highlight Pro subscription itself. You can add your keys in the settings page. Note that you’ll pay the provider’s API costs directly, which may exceed your Highlight Pro subscription cost depending on usage.
Absolutely! With Pro, you can use your own API keys for some models (which won’t count against your credits) while still accessing Highlight’s premium models with your monthly credit allocation.
Cloud transcription (Pro only) offers real-time processing, higher accuracy, speaker diarization with named speakers, and automatic meeting summaries. Local transcription (Free plan) processes audio on your device but has limited features and quality.
If you purchased a plan prior to November 26th, 2025, we’ll keep you on your existing plan for 24 months at the same price you originally paid. We’re calling these “Early Supporter” plans as a thank you for believing in Highlight early on.
Student plans have been migrated to our Free tier, which includes locally transcribed meetings and auto-selected models for chat. If you need Pro features like premium model selection and more usage, you can upgrade to Highlight Pro for $20/month.
You can cancel your plan at any time by visiting your account settings page and selecting “Manage Plan”. Your access will continue until the end of your billing period.
